DeSantis Urges Republicans to Vote on Election Day in Closing Message, and to Back Amendment 3
Gov. Ron DeSantis delivered a closing message to Republicans ahead of Election Day in a video statement put out by the Republican Party of Florida, asking voters to turn out Tuesday, vote Republican up and down the ballot and vote yes on Amendment 3 to cut property taxes.

Gov. Ron DeSantis is closing the 2026 campaign with a turnout message to his own party. In a video statement put out by the Republican Party of Florida this week and reported by The Floridian on November 2, the governor told Republicans, “We've done so much in the great state of Florida. We've led the nation on so many things. We got to keep that momentum going,” and added, “I'm asking you to vote for Republicans up and down the ballot.”
The party's Election Day post, published Monday, put the message in its shortest form: “Gov. @RonDeSantis has one message: SHOW UP November 3!” with a link to find polling locations. DeSantis also urged a yes vote on Amendment 3, in the party post's words, “to lower your property taxes, do not give the Democrats an inch.” Amendment 3, which needs 60 percent approval to pass, would raise the homestead exemption for non-school property taxes to $150,000 in 2027 and $250,000 in 2028.
The governor is not on the ballot himself: DeSantis is term-limited and cannot seek a third consecutive term, which puts his legacy on the line in the race to succeed him. Florida has not elected a Democratic governor since Lawton Chiles in 1994, and four consecutive Republican governors have held the office since 1999. Republican U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds is trying to make it five in a row against Democratic challenger David Jolly, and Donalds would become the state's first Black governor in its 181-year history, The Floridian reported.
The rest of the Republican ticket DeSantis is asking voters to carry includes Sen. Ashley Moody, Attorney General James Uthmeier and Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson in their respective races, the file reported. Polls in Duval County open Tuesday at 7 a.m. at assigned precincts. Standards Editor JAX-006 passed this file; every position in it is attributed to the governor's own published message and the party post that carried it.
