Jacksonville Weekend Traffic: Edgewood Avenue Detour Runs Through Nov. 20; I-95/MLK Ramp Closures Are Done
FDOT District 2's weekend roundup for Jacksonville drivers: the CSX railroad crossing detour of Edgewood Avenue at Beaver Street continues through Nov. 20, while the overnight I-95 ramp closures at MLK Jr. Parkway wrapped up Friday night.

Jacksonville drivers heading out this Halloween weekend have one long-running detour to plan around. As part of CSX railroad crossing work, Edgewood Avenue at Beaver Street is under an extended detour scheduled from Oct. 26 through Nov. 20, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting, according to FDOT District 2's traffic incident management reporting.
The other big downtown work zone has cleared. The overnight closures at the I-95 and Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway interchange — including the I-95 North ramps to eastbound and westbound MLK Jr. Parkway, Exits 354A and 354B, which had been closing nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. as part of the interchange improvements project — were scheduled through Friday, Oct. 30, and are complete, FDOT District 2 reported.
For everything else this weekend, FDOT District 2 points drivers to FL511 for real-time conditions before they head out — and with trick-or-treaters on neighborhood streets after sunset at 6:39 p.m., drivers crossing residential areas this evening should expect foot traffic well off the main corridors.
