Election Day in Duval County: Polls Open 7 to 7 on Tuesday, and Voters Must Use Their Assigned Precinct
Early voting lets any Duval voter use any of the county's 24 sites — Election Day is different. On Tuesday, Nov. 3, polls run 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., voters cast ballots at their assigned precinct only, and mail ballots must be in the elections office's hands by 7 p.m.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, and the rules change from the early voting Duval County has run since October 20. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern, according to the Duval County Supervisor of Elections' official dates and deadlines page, and a voter who votes in person on Election Day must vote at the polling location assigned to their precinct — not at any site in the county. A picture and signature identification are required.
The any-site rule still applies for the rest of the weekend: early voting continues at all 24 Duval sites on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and ends Sunday, November 1. Vote-by-mail voters are out of the mailing window in practice — a completed mail ballot counts only if the Supervisor of Elections has received it by 7 p.m. on Election Day, and the elections office at 105 E. Monroe Street is open until 7 p.m. on Election Day for in-person returns. Voters with questions can reach the office at 904-255-8683.
Duval voters will help decide all 435 U.S. House seats and 35 Senate seats nationally in the midterms, and the local ballot carries the renewal of Duval County Public Schools' 1-mill property tax and three open school board seats in Districts 2, 4 and 6 — both covered in this station's election reporting this week. Florida voters who are in line at their polling place at 7 p.m. are still eligible to cast a ballot.
