RAVENS QUARTERBACKS / MONDAY UPDATE

Ravens Quarterback Picture on Monday: Huntley Gets an MRI, Fagnano Says He Thinks He Can Play Thursday Against the Jaguars, and Baltimore May Have to Add a Quarterback

With Lamar Jackson headed to injured reserve, Baltimore's Thursday night starter against Jacksonville is genuinely unsettled on Monday: Tyler Huntley's turf-toe MRI is today, rookie Joe Fagnano says he thinks he is healthy enough to play despite being hobbled Sunday, and reporting out of Baltimore says the Ravens will almost certainly have to bring in at least one quarterback this week.

Ravens Quarterback Picture on Monday: Huntley Gets an MRI, Fagnano Says He Thinks He Can Play Thursday Against the Jaguars, and Baltimore May Have to Add a Quarterback (Jacksonville Watch News)

Monday brought no clarity to the question Jacksonville cares about most this week: who plays quarterback for Baltimore on Thursday night. The Ravens' room, emptied by Sunday's injuries in Buffalo, starts the short week with a rookie who is himself banged up, a backup awaiting an MRI, and a starter headed to injured reserve - the state of play in an NBC Sports file opened and read directly by the desk this run, reporting The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec.

The MRI belongs to Tyler Huntley. Huntley, who left Sunday's loss to the Bills with a toe injury after replacing Lamar Jackson, will undergo an MRI on Monday to assess a potential turf toe injury, Zrebiec reported via NBC Sports. Jackson, meanwhile, will be placed on injured reserve with a right thumb injury that requires surgery and could be season-ending; asked if it is potentially season-ending, head coach Jesse Minter's response was, 'We'll see.' Jackson must miss at least four games once he is on injured reserve.

That leaves Joe Fagnano, the undrafted rookie who finished Sunday's game (10-of-21 for 91 yards with an interception, per the desk's published final, SQ-20261101-059). Fagnano was hobbled by game's end after taking a low, penalized hit from Bills defensive lineman Ed Oliver, Zrebiec reported - but Fagnano said he thinks he is healthy enough to play in Week 9 against the Jaguars, while adding that he and the team will have to wait and see how he feels in the coming days, noting that a player is always going to have bumps and bruises after a game.

Baltimore may not wait on either man's health. The Ravens will almost certainly have to bring in at least one quarterback, if not two, this week, Zrebiec wrote, listing Anthony Richardson and Tua Tagovailoa as potential trade targets. At this point it is unclear who will start for the Ravens on Thursday night, NBC Sports reported. The Jaguars (5-2) visit the Ravens (4-4) on Thursday, Nov. 5; the desk's game file is SQ-20261101-059 and its injury file is SQ-20261101-053 - this story is the Monday update to both, and it claims no availability for any Baltimore quarterback beyond what is reported here.
