Freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds threw for two touchdowns and sealed the game with a 79-yard touchdown run as Clemson beat Florida State 36-24 at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday night, the Seminoles' third straight loss.

Florida State's difficult season took another turn on Halloween night. Clemson beat the Seminoles 36-24 at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday, extending Florida State's losing streak to three games and dropping the Seminoles to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the ACC, the Tallahassee Democrat reported. Clemson improved to 5-3 and 3-2 in conference play.
Clemson freshman quarterback Tait Reynolds threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns — the same number of touchdown passes Clemson had thrown in its first seven games combined — and added 85 rushing yards, capped by the play of the night: facing third-and-12 with 3:17 remaining and Florida State within five points, Reynolds escaped a near-sack and ran 79 yards for the touchdown that sealed the win. Clemson kicker Nolan Hauser made all five of his field-goal attempts, with a long of 50.
Florida State quarterback Ashton Daniels threw for 350 yards and two touchdowns, including a 41-yard strike to Jasen Lopez, but he turned the ball over four times — three interceptions and a fumble — and the Seminoles ran for a season-low 65 yards and went 1-of-10 on third down despite outgaining Clemson 415 yards to 351. The loss makes head coach Mike Norvell 1-5 against Clemson and Dabo Swinney at Florida State. The Seminoles travel to Boston College next Saturday.
