Edward Waters' Fourth-Quarter Rally Falls Short in a 35-28 Loss at Central State
Edward Waters outscored Central State 15-0 in the fourth quarter on Saturday but could not climb all the way back from a 35-13 hole, falling 35-28 in Wilberforce, Ohio — the Tigers' third loss of the season.

Edward Waters made it dramatic late, but the hole was too deep. The Tigers fell 35-28 at Central State on Saturday, outscoring the Marauders 15-0 in the fourth quarter after trailing 35-13, according to Edward Waters University's official game report.
Central State built its largest lead on a 99-yard drive capped by Wasik's 25-yard touchdown pass to Damon Griffin Jr. with 1:21 left in the third quarter. Edward Waters finished with 423 yards of offense — 208 rushing and 215 passing — but converted only 2 of 7 third downs and was penalized nine times for 90 yards, the university reported.
The loss drops Edward Waters to 6-3 overall and 5-2 in the SIAC, while Central State improves to 6-3 and 6-1 in conference play. The Tigers return home next to host Allen University in Jacksonville for Senior Day and the AME Classic.
