I-95 Ramps at MLK Parkway Close Overnight Through Friday, and Crash Responder Safety Week Starts Today in Northeast Florida (Jacksonville Watch News)

The overnight closures at I-95 and Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway are not done. As part of the interchange improvements project, overnight closures are scheduled Saturday, October 31 through Friday, November 6, FDOT District 2 reported on its Northeast Florida traffic news page, read directly by the Traffic Desk this run - a new round that follows the round the desk reported complete on October 30. Not all scheduled ramp closures will occur simultaneously, the district said; the named closure in its notice is the ramp from I-95 North to eastbound MLK Jr. Parkway, Exit 354A.

The same district page carries the week's second traffic story. Crash Responder Safety Week 2026 runs November 2-6 under the theme FDOT published - 'Slow Down, Move Over. Lives are on the Line!' - with the district's reminder that every few seconds, somewhere, a traffic incident responder puts their life on the line to aid crash victims and clear crashes and other incidents quickly enough to prevent a secondary crash. Florida's move-over duty is the week's practical point for Jacksonville drivers passing any stopped responder, tow truck or disabled vehicle.

One longer detour is still running underneath both items: the CSX railroad crossing work on Edgewood Avenue at Beaver Street keeps its extended detour in place October 26 to November 20, weather permitting, with northbound Edgewood motorists following Cassat Avenue south, I-10 West, Lane Avenue north and Beaver Street east, FDOT reported. The Traffic Desk will re-check the I-95/MLK schedule in the PM-drive file.
