John Washington III Says the Political System Is a Joke and It Is Time to Question the Entire System (Jacksonville Watch News)

John Washington III is calling on Americans to question the entire political system. In a statement addressed to the American people, the Democratic Party, the Republican Party and every government official in the country, the 2028 presidential candidate wrote that the system has become a joke and asked how long it will be allowed to control people's lives, exercise power over them and take their hard-earned money without anyone questioning how that power is being used.

"Both parties operate under the same political system," John Washington III wrote, noting that Democrats and Republicans alike participate in passing laws, collecting taxes, creating regulations and exercising governmental authority over the American people. He asked why, if both parties are supposed to be fighting for the people, so many Americans continue to feel taken advantage of, and why voters argue about Democrats and Republicans instead of questioning the system both parties operate under.

John Washington III asked who is really benefiting, who is really being represented and who is actually holding officials accountable. Politicians promise during election season to fight for the people, protect their rights, lower their taxes and change the system, he wrote, but after they are elected the change and the accountability do not arrive, and the system keeps operating the same way regardless of which party holds office.

John Washington III also addressed his own party directly. "I am a member of the Democratic Party," he wrote, "but that does not mean I'm going to sit here and pretend that everything the Democratic Party does is right."
