The Jacksonville Fair's new era starts this week, at a new address. The 71st Annual Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair will be held November 5-15 at its new home on Jacksonville's Westside, at 13601 Normandy Boulevard, next to the Jacksonville Equestrian Center, the fair's official site says — an 82-plus-acre campus that replaces the downtown site the fair called home for 70 years, with a 10,000-capacity JAX Amphitheater, the 40,000-square-foot Duval Hall and more than 5,000 parking spaces.

The deadline that matters this week is Wednesday. Early-bird general admission — $10 for adults, $5 for children and $5 for seniors — is on sale only until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, after which adult admission rises to $15 and child and senior admission to $10; children 5 and under are free. The $25 early-bird Mega Pass, which bundles admission with most rides for one day, is likewise advance-only through November 4.

Admission covers the fair's grounds entertainment: the 904 Soundstage, the Duval Hall stage and expo competitions, the marketplace and the new barn. JAX Amphitheater concerts across the fair's 11 days are ticketed separately, though a concert ticket includes fair admission, and the Horses and Heroes Rodeo runs November 6 and 7. All ticket sales are final unless an event is canceled in its entirety, the fair says.

For Jacksonville families, the practical change is the trip itself: the fair is no longer a downtown outing. Plan the drive to Normandy Boulevard on the Westside, and buy before Wednesday night if the early-bird price matters.
