Jacksonville Volleyball Falls at Stetson in Five Sets — the Dolphins' Sixth Straight Five-Set Match
Down two sets in DeLand, Jacksonville rallied to force a fifth — then Stetson took five of six points late to close it out, 15-10. Jaylyn Tuiasosopo led the Dolphins with 15 kills.

Jacksonville's volleyball team keeps playing the longest matches in the ASUN — and keeps coming up one set short. The Dolphins fell in five sets at Stetson on Friday night in DeLand, 22-25, 17-25, 25-23, 25-23, 10-15, Jacksonville University reported. It was the sixth straight match in which the Dolphins (10-13, 4-5 ASUN) have gone the full five sets.
The comeback was real. After dropping the first two sets, Jacksonville took the third 25-23 — Zoey Vandel's kill brought up set point and her serve produced the ace that won it — and then the fourth by the same score after Kathryn Adler put the Dolphins up 21-17 and they held off a late Stetson push to force the tiebreaker.
Freshman outside hitter Jaylyn Tuiasosopo led Jacksonville with a team-high 15 kills, her third straight match with at least 15, and junior middle blocker Haley Yount added 12 kills while hitting .320, her fourth double-digit kill match in her last five. Senior setter Jade Cuya Cobos continued her defensive run with at least 29 digs for a sixth straight match, per the university's match notes.
The fifth set was tied at seven before Stetson took five of the next six points to lead 12-8 and closed it out by five. Jacksonville plays again Sunday afternoon at FGCU, with first serve at 1 p.m.
