A Family Sunday Downtown: Yoga at the Cummer, Portrait Drawing and the Children's Music Festival
Between the 1 p.m. kickoff at EverBank and the last early-voting hours, downtown Jacksonville offers a full family Sunday — garden yoga at 11, drawing at 12:30 and a children's concert at the Symphony at 3.

Jacksonville's Sunday is spoken for three times over — Jaguars at 1 p.m., early voting until 5 — but downtown's family calendar fills the hours around both. The day starts at the Cummer Museum, 829 Riverside Avenue, where Yoga for All runs from 11 a.m. to noon in the Cummer Gardens. The all-levels session, led by Soluna Yoga + Spa, welcomes individuals and families of all ages and abilities for movement, breath and nature in the museum's gardens, according to Downtown Jacksonville's event listings.
The Cummer keeps the afternoon. From 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., artist William McMahan leads The Art of Portrait Drawing at the museum — a session built on careful observation, proportion, form, light and expression, open to beginners and to artists refining their practice, with personalized instruction in a small-group setting.
At 3 p.m. the Jacksonville Symphony, at 300 Water Street, stages its Children's Music Festival: a family-friendly interactive concert for ages 5 and up, presenting 'Tchaikovsky Discovers America,' presented by Classical Kids Live and based on the composer's arrival in America. When the concert ends at 4, the lobby takes over — with lobby activities that include conducting an ensemble, arts and crafts and an instrument zoo where children can get close to the instruments they just heard.
It is the shape of this particular Sunday in Jacksonville: an hour of yoga under the Cummer's oaks, an afternoon of drawing, and a first concert for the city's youngest listeners — all of it inside the same downtown map as a division game at EverBank and the final day of early voting. Families picking one piece of it have three good doors in.
