Jaguars vs Colts Final Score: Jacksonville Beats Indianapolis 42-7 Behind Lawrence, Tuten and a Pick-Six (Jacksonville Watch News)

The Jacksonville Jaguars finished what their first half started. Jacksonville beat the Indianapolis Colts 42-7 at EverBank Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 1, rolling to a 28-0 halftime lead and adding two third-quarter touchdowns before resting starters in the fourth, NBC Sports and IndyStar reported in files opened by the desk this run. The win moves Jacksonville to 5-2 and keeps the Jaguars alone atop the AFC South; Indianapolis falls to 2-6 with its fourth straight loss.

Trevor Lawrence was efficient all afternoon: 10-of-14 for 210 yards and three touchdowns before Quinn Ewers got late time, according to both reports. His scores were the 12-yard strike to Brian Thomas Jr. that capped a 98-yard opening drive — Thomas's first catch since Week 4, NBC Sports noted — the 31-yard pass to Nate Boerkircher, and a 25-yard screen to Bhayshul Tuten in the third quarter. Tuten rushed for 104 yards, added 55 receiving yards and scored twice, on a 39-yard run and the screen. Chris Rodriguez Jr. added a 28-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter that made it 35-0.

The defensive play of the day closed the first half. After Jaylahn Tuimoloau strip-sacked Lawrence and Indianapolis reached the Jacksonville end of the field, Daniel Jones's pass went off tight end Tyler Warren's hands and Rayuan Lane returned the interception 91 yards for a touchdown with 10 seconds left in the second quarter, IndyStar reported. Jones finished 19-of-28 for 144 yards, one touchdown — a 6-yard pass to Josh Downs in the third quarter — and two interceptions, and was pulled in the fourth for Anthony Richardson, who made his season debut going 2-of-2 for 8 yards with 4 rushing yards. Jonathan Taylor was held to 8 carries for 23 yards against Jacksonville's run defense.

Jacksonville now turns on a short week: the Jaguars play at Baltimore on Thursday night, Nov. 5, a game NBC Sports noted the starters were already resting toward in the fourth quarter. Indianapolis, which has not won in Jacksonville since 2014 according to IndyStar, hosts Dallas on Nov. 8. Two Jacksonville starters left Sunday's first half and did not return — safety Eric Murray (elbow, on the opening kickoff) and defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton (knee, early in the second quarter) — as the desk reported in its first-half file; no update beyond that was verified this run.
