Jakobi Meyers Expected to Play Against the Colts: Rapoport Says the Jaguars Receiver Is Good to Go

Jakobi Meyers Expected to Play Against the Colts: Rapoport Says the Jaguars Receiver Is Good to Go (Jacksonville Watch News)

Jacksonville's biggest game-day injury question appears to have broken the Jaguars' way. Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, listed as questionable with hamstring and ankle injuries, is expected to play Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts at EverBank Stadium, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday morning, writing that Meyers is "good to go today, per source." Jaguars Wire, which carried the update, noted that inactives are announced 90 minutes before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, when Meyers' status becomes official.

The week had trended the other direction. Meyers was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday with the hamstring injury, then did not practice at all on Friday, when an ankle injury was added to his listing on the team's final injury report. Safety Antonio Johnson, by contrast, was ruled out for Sunday on that same final report, as this station reported Saturday.

Meyers has been one of Trevor Lawrence's steadiest targets this season: 20 catches on 28 targets for 285 yards and two touchdowns, second on the team in receiving yards, including a season-high 83 yards in the Jaguars' last game, the Week 6 meeting with Houston in London. His availability matters more this week because of the uncertainty around Brian Thomas Jr., whose shrinking role has fueled trade speculation ahead of the November 10 deadline — a story this station has covered separately.

If Meyers is active, Jacksonville's top receiving group runs through him, Parker Washington and Thomas, with Josh Cameron and Travis Hunter in the mix. A win Sunday moves the Jaguars to 5-2 and keeps them in control of the AFC South; Indianapolis arrives at 2-5, having not won in Jacksonville since 2014.
