ROARS and More Returns to the Jacksonville Zoo on November 15 to Benefit Community PedsCare
The Foundation of Community Hospice & Palliative Care brings its after-hours family night back to the Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens on Sunday, November 15, from 4:30 to 8 p.m., raising money for pediatric palliative and hospice care.

The Jacksonville Zoo after dark is the setting for one of the fall's family fundraisers. The Foundation of Community Hospice & Palliative Care presents ROARS and More on Sunday, November 15, from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at the Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens, the Ponte Vedra Recorder reported — an evening benefiting Community PedsCare, the foundation's pediatric palliative and hospice program.
Guests stroll the zoo while sampling food from Jacksonville vendors, with craft cocktails, toy stops for young explorers, music and activities in the Wild Cubs Adventure Zone, carousel rides and a movie adventure in the 4D Theater. The evening also offers a chance to experience the zoo's new Manatee River exhibit.
Community PedsCare is the pediatric palliative and hospice program of Community Hospice & Palliative Care, providing care and support for children with serious and life-limiting illnesses and their families, focused on comfort, quality of life and the needs of the entire family. The Dorion Family Pediatric Center, which opened earlier this year in Jacksonville, gives PedsCare patients and families a place to receive therapies, join specialized programs and connect with additional support, the Recorder's account said.
Proceeds from ROARS and More support Community PedsCare programs and services. Expedition passes, sponsorships and event information are at roarsandmore.thefoundationcares.org, per the announcement. The event sits two weeks out on the calendar — close enough for families planning a November night at the zoo to put it on the list now.
